Message to staff Welcome back! Here’s what you’ve been missing during our annual maintenance period Tafelberg Road During shutdown work began on the rehabilitation of Tafelberg Road that will improve pedestrian safety in close proximity to the Lower Cableway Station. Completion of this project is expected in November 2012. Toilet upgrade The new chemical toilet installation is complete. The upgraded bathrooms not only recycle water, but also have push-button taps, new low-watt LED lighting and green-certified hand dryers. Be sure to check out the beautiful artwork on the bathroom walls…the work of a local designer & illustrator by the name of Heather Moore. Table Mountain Café Check out the new shelves fitted inside the café, and exciting new bar in the self-service area. Cable cars and murals on level 5 The cable cars have been rebranded by VISA with an exciting new look that speaks ‘Fynbos’. New mural artwork, depicting Table Mountain being a New7Wonder of Nature, is what our visitors will admire whilst waiting for the next cable car. Birthdays during our annual maintenance period South Africans whose birthday fell within the closure period are entitled to redeem their complimentary birthday ride up the Cableway between 6 August and 12 August.
